My wife, Nicole, and I have a distribution company that concentrates on design driven kids toys, primarily from Europe. The first and most popular brand we distribute is a natural rubber baby toy brand from Spain called Oli & Carol. My background is in fashion sales and Nicole was a stylist who then started working in the baby industry (once we started a family). After we had our middle child, we were looking for a natural rubber teether and Nicole came across Oli & Carol on Instagram. We loved the design and the fact that is was safe and non-toxic. So we contacted them and asked where we could buy their products in the US and they said, ' we just started six months ago and don't have any distribution in the US.' Three months later, we had an exclusive distribution agreement. And now five years later we're in close to a thousand locations in the US and Canada. I also manage sales, in Florida and Alabama, for a Vancouver based global accessories brand called Hershel Supply Company. I've been with them about seven years. They started as a fashionable, accessibly priced and well-made alternative to the typical Jansport backpack. Now, they are a full lifestyle brand, from backpacks to headwear, apparel, wallets, and travel.

As my Dad says, my ‘big kid job’ is working for a wealth advising company called Provenance Wealth Advisors. I'm a client associate. We're helping secure people’s future in their portfolio and family planning. But, my passion job is being the Executive Director of my family's foundation. It’s called the Woody Foundation. We work hard to help people who are living with paralysis.

My husband and I both work from home. He works in utilities and I work in tech. We actually just sent the kids back to school last Monday. Prior to that, our weeks were virtual school here. Both of my boys are neuro-diverse. One of them is ADHD and the other one is on the autism spectrum. The younger one, who's on the spectrum, was starting to regress, and it had been 337 days that they had been home. We said, 'now that your grandparents are vaccinated and there are safety protocols, it's time for you guys to go back to school.'

When people ask, I tell them - I am a professional connector. I am the director of engagement and outreach at Temple Judea in Coral Gables. I’ve been there for 12 years. I started working as preschool teacher and worked my way through the synagogue. At one point, I recognized the need for a position - that I thought was about programming and creating events - but I realized it was not just about my ideas - people don’t want to hear from me, they want to learn from each other.

Farming is my second career. I went to UF for photography and then moved to Germany and lived there for 10 years. I worked for a contemporary art gallery. And then, I moved back to Miami because my father was ill. I was supposed to be here for just the winter, and that was eight years ago. Miami got me.
