Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
I have a million different groups. There's Feeding South Florida, I think they are important in relation to what you guys do. There's the Homeless Trust which is important. If anybody knows somebody who's at risk of homelessness or needs assistance, they can always contact the Homeless Trust. Miami's amazing. There's organizations that work on behalf of every single specific subpopulation. With the LGBTQ community, there's the YES Institute and the Pride Center, Latino Salude. There's a lot.

I support the LGBTQ community as best I can. I support any animal community. With our dogs, we often volunteer at hospitals and nursing homes to bring a little bit of a smile and compassion. Actually, our dogs do most of it. It's wonderful to see the reaction that elderly or infirmed people have to a dog that's wagging its tail and licking your hand.

Danielle: Besides United Hatzalah, we are also involved with AIPAC. Alex: We are involved and support many groups. I participate with Chabad in the grove, visiting sick people at Mercy Hospital. I'm also involved in the Miami New Drama at The Colony Theatre on Lincoln Rd. I am the Board Treasurer. We produce four plays each season and other events throughout the year. Right now, we are about to open FAKE by Carmen Pelaez. It follows the character, Camila, at a renowned auction house right after she is promoted to head of their Latin American Art Department. When she is presented with one her great-aunt Amelia Pelaez's paintings as a last-minute sale inclusion she questions its authenticity forcing her to choose between her career or her Amelia's legacy. We just closed a play called ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI that put the spotlight on Muhammad Ali's night winning the heavyweight champion title in Miami and then going to a hotel room in Brownsville to stay the night due to segregation laws. There he meets up with Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown. It was a very impactful play that engaged the community.

I get involved with the poetry festival every April, called O, Miami. They put on so many great events during the month of April. Another that we're about to enter, is Latino Conservation Week from July 17th to July 25th. There's a slew of amazing events focusing on getting outdoors to learn about conservation and different spaces. I'm hosting one of the events, at Amelia Earhart park on Saturday, the 24th at 10:00 AM. It's going to be myself and another beekeeper named Adrian Perez, the bearded beekeeper. It's going to be a double workshop with an introduction to beekeeping and then how to build habitats for pollinators.

Of course, I want to shout out Breakthrough Miami. The Scholar Celebration is always one of my favorites. It's a non-sit-down cocktail dinner party that is interactive and brings together five of Miami's best independent schools and their supporters for a common cause. The Ayiti Trust is a new player in town and I love supporting them. And, Give Miami Day is coming up and I think it is really so amazing that our community can, on one day, donate and support so many great causes. Collectively it makes our community feel connected because we give from our hearts and from our wallets and we raise millions of dollars and that's an awesome thing. And the Seed School of Miami is on that list!

I'm very active in a bunch. I'm on a number of committees for United Way and that's one organization that I strongly support. I'm on the board of trustees at Temple Judea and we spend a lot of time there. For the last decade, Ben and I have both volunteered with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Miami. I would say in general, I'm very passionate about women's and children's issues. So, I participate in a number of mentorship and professional organizations that are aimed at supporting women and children. And in particular, early childhood literacy is my big plug.
