What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Oh my God. I love this section. I've gone back and read past issues. For acupuncture and chiropractic work, NSEV Healing. healing. They also do Chinese herbs. Then, there's Focused Movement Academy. For food and drinks: Sylvester, the bar, is really fun. Wabi-Sabi by Shuji doesn’t really have a good sign, but they exist and they're always busy. They do an omakase that's good. If you really want to splurge, one final recommendation is called Hiden. It's a hole in the wall in a taco stand. You type in a code, the door slides open and it only seats 10 people.

What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?I still find myself at the Bar at Michael’s Genuine occasionally. When they have it, I like the wood-oven roasted eggplant with tahini. When they have simple vegetable soups at lunch, I really enjoy it too- broth and veggies. Whisk Gourmet when I’m craving a 3-D, satisfying sandwich. Chef Brendan makes the best ones in town. He and his sister Kirsten are really special people, and that makes everything taste even better.

What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Tom: Two Chefs in Pinecrest is our numero uno. We brought so many wine makers from around the world to Two Chefs for winemaker lunches and dinners. They have all been blown away by the caliber of the cuisine in this little strip mall spot. Jan Jorgensen is Danish and classically trained and understands wine so much better than many of the younger chefs whose bold flavors really compete with wine. Try the fillet or pork chop – they are fabulous.
