Vintage cars and travel. I take my kids like all over the place to experience a lot of new things. So I splurge on travel with them.

I enjoy Dolphin season tickets. I love going to those games. When I was young, my dad used to take us to the Orange Bowl. He was like all the other old Cuban dads, we had to get tickets under the roof, but we still took ponchos to every game. I've done that now with my younger daughter and she's become a huge football fan. She loves going and it doesn't matter how bad they stink, she just loves going to football games.

Heirloom seeds for the vegetable garden. I recently bought several dozen packets of unfamiliar vegetables and beans to experiment with in my backyard garden. I ordered them from rareseeds.com which I learned about through the Mother Earth news website.

For me, time off is a splurge. I took off four days last week for the holiday. I got to relax. There was a lot of rain, so we got to hang around and go out for dinner.

I don't really splurge too much on clothing or retail therapy. For me, my splurge is a great meal. Sharing that great meal with friends and family, great wine, and quality ingredients. I'm okay with paying more for healthy, local ingredients. We don't have enough places that offer those options.

If a genie popped out and said, I can pick whatever watch I wanted, I guess it would be a Patek Phillipe, solid rose gold travel time with a blue dial. It's a piece that holds its value.

Food-wise, I'd say if we haven't caught our own stone crabs, going to Golden Rule and getting stone crabs and their sauce. They have the best sauce.
