What for you is a worthy splurge?
I’ll use splurge in terms of time. A worthy splurge is going to Everglades National Park – going all the way down to Flamingo - and taking time to rent a canoe, to go out to the islands, and walk the Anhinga trail. We spend so many of our family together times in the Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park. We’re the only county in the country with two national parks – which is just an incredible bounty.

What for you is a worthy splurge?
Travel for sure. It gives me great joy when my boys talk about a trip that we took together, and they remember something, even a small thing about a trip or something someone said in a different language or something that we saw that was different from what we usually see here. It doesn't need to even be overseas. We recently went to Marco Island to spend a week. The boys talk about the animals and nature that we saw.

For me, my splurge is getting to bed early. With my MS, it is very important to not negotiate about my bedtime - ever. I got to bed every night at 8pm – so my splurge is getting 10 hours of sleep every night.

I love to travel, and I consider that a big splurge because flying's awful for climate change. I've started offsetting my flights. There are great companies now to offset your flights.

A trip. I'm a big traveler. Japan's probably number one on my bucket list. I just got back from India about a month ago and it was a great trip.

Clothes. Not that I am a shopper. I'm either on the farm or in the kitchen and neither of those things really require much of a wardrobe. So, buying clothing for myself is a splurge.
