Eight years as a couple, but Michael grew up in Pinecrest.

Where are you originally from and what brought you to town?
We were born and raised here – lucky us!

Please share about what you do for a livelihood or what keeps you busy during the week?
Maritime Attorney and Head Mom in Charge

How often do you come to the market?
It is our Sunday ritual!

Do you have a market ritual?
If so, please describe.  Yes, every week we begin with the fabulous LNB Smoothies (half jack, half the red one). The kids get their bottles filled and drink the entire thing and then smile cutely and ask to have some of our smoothies too (we can’t say no). We then grab a breakfast sandwich & veggie bowl from Babe Froman right after asking the folks at the Bee Heaven tent if they have any mulberries this week, followed by Arepas for the kiddos, followed by an Acai Superhero bowl split four ways, followed by a Pizza for later which we eat right then, followed by a kettle corn sample even though we already know what it tastes like! We grab a reserved bottle of Kombucha from Counter Culture (Strawberry Mint is our fave) and then go over to the end of the market by the pizza stand and let the kids run around while we sit curbside and usually bump into friends.

What’s your favorite thing to buy at LNB Grovestand and why
LNB smoothies of course!! We love the idea of feeding our kids locally grown fruits and veggies plus it’s always fun to chat with Adena, Walt and Walt’s Dad who we secretly think reminds us of Indiana Jones! Plus, the Red Jamaican bananas from LNB are B.A.N.A.N.A.S! We love them as much as the smoothies!

What’s your favorite thing to buy at other stands at the market?
Babe Froman Espresso rubbed Bacon (Michael) – Mulberries from Bee Heaven Farm (Claudia)

For parents: A favorite activity we enjoy with our kids?
Does nap time count? Just kidding! We love taking walks around the neighborhood with them and baking together at home or making pancakes. We also love reading lots of stories as a family and snuggling of course.

The best deal at the market is:
$1 single pickle

I wish the market had:
Air conditioning!!!

Most-frequented local restaurants and what dish to order:
We love the Primavera Risotto from A Pizza Brooklyn (their Tiramisu is also on point), Shrimp tacos from The Brick Restaurant and from Whisk the fried green tomatoes, pork burrito and crab fried rice!

For special occasions, I go to:
Cecconi’sPascals on Ponce – but truly Makoto is our favorite spot whether it’s a special occasion or not.

What’s the area’s best-kept secret?
If we told you it wouldn’t be a secret anymore!

A worthy splurge:
Couples spa day at the Mandarin (you can stay all day to use the pool and have lunch too)

Rainy-day activity:
Get a little hygge going in the house by lighting some candles, baking something and just lounging around as a family.

The most romantic spot around:
Sitting by the fire pit in our backyard with a glass of wine and some good music.

I wish you had asked me about:
World peace. Is it here yet?

Do you own your own business or offer a service? Would you share a pitch about yourself or company with the community?
If you ever get injured on a cruise call Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina & Winkleman (www.lipcon.com), we’re AV rated and have over 100 years of combined experience.  We also like LNB Smoothies (with an extra helping of Justice!)

Is there a question that you would like to ask the LNBs?
Can we come tour the farm one day? We would love to see it!  Also, what hair product(s) does Walt use?

Adena + Walt: We would love to hang out on the farm one day. Walt – I have been using the same hair product for over 20 years. They do not sell it in the US anymore so I purchase from the UK — it’s called Fudge Shaper
