What's Miami's best kept secret?
It's a secret that's out in the open. We're completely surrounded by water, and it's actually very accessible to get out there and enjoy. Pre Corona, we would rarely be out on the water, but being locked down, you look at this amazing natural resource and you want to get out there. We bought some inflatable kayaks on Amazon and found a hidden boat launch on Miami Beach. Every weekend, we go out and enjoy the canals and the Intercostal and the Bay.

What's Miami's best kept secret?
I think in the bottom of Biscayne Bay. I was just there yesterday and it's so close, but so far away. And I think Miami has many spots like that, whether it's in the mangroves or on the flats. I love paddle and kite boarding and getting out and finding that peace and tranquility. As you hold your breath and go underwater there is a peaceful spot. I think the more time we spend outdoors, the more connections we have and therefore the better stewards we will become as purchasing adults, as voting adults, and young people as well. It transcends borders, ideologies, education, religion, income, skin color. We are all in this together and the more time you spend outdoors, the more time we spend on the bottom of Biscayne Bay, it will benefit us all. I think a lot of this Movement is to preserve our spot in it and to take the best care that we can while we're here.

What's Miami's best kept secret?
Someone said this and it definitely was forever Jimbo's. But, I recently went to Cauley Square. It had been on my radar for years, but I never went. It was full of people. There's a tea room there and my jaw dropped, like 'what is this place? How does this exist here?' It is a legitimate tea room, like a British style tea room in terms of the menu, but it's wrapped in the guise of kitschy Old Florida with a thrift store vibe.

What's Miami's best kept secret?
On the medical side - I think that the Diabetes Research Institute is an unbelievable local secret. I don’t think people realize that it is one of the top three diabetes research institutes in the world. I mentioned diabetes before and I’ll mention it again because one in four adults 65 or older is a diabetic. It’s costing our nation about 245 billion dollars a year in medical expenses – not to speak of the toll on everyone’s health.

What's Miami's best kept secret?
The rye chocolate brownies at Madruga Bakery.  Naomi does something very interesting baking.  She starts with organic grain and mills it at the bakery.  It’s a level of freshness and authenticity you just don’t find at most bakeries.  And, she adds about 10% whole wheat flour to her baguettes and her croissants – which adds more flavor than you ever thought possible.   I rank Naomi as one of the best bread bakers in the country.

What's Miami's best kept secret?
Blaise: You should plant mangroves to protect your house. They protect you from hurricanes and tornadoes. And they protect the beaches from erosion. Atlas: There's a lot of smart people. Also, Daily Bread has curbside delivery right now, so you can call and order your fresh pita, hummus, and olives and pick it up outside the store.
