What's Miami's best kept secret?
Oh my gosh, Mandolin Bistro. It's probably one of the best pastas I've ever had and the best part was that every shell was handmade, so it just made it taste even better.

One of my favorite places to go is walking to the Chinese bridge and then ending up at the People's dock. It's always so quiet and peaceful and gives you that little moment. The view is beautiful. If you're lucky, maybe you’ll see a dolphin.

The Kampong. It was the house of David Fairchild, the person that created the Botanical gardens in Miami, and he created a mini botanical garden for his family. Now, it is open to the public but many people don’t know that it's there. You’ll only find a few people there at the same time, so it's like it's just open for you. You can have a picnic there, I like to go with the kids and sit by the water. Sometimes they have events. You better call first because sometimes they don't answer the door.

It's probably not a secret anymore, but I just discovered it - Aguacate in West Miami, close to Kendall hospital. It's a vegan sanctuary. They have a little farm. There are some animals and they have amazing food and they have yoga sessions as well.

What's Miami's best kept secret?
There's a lot of cool places to try things out and be creative. My kids took pottery classes at the ceramic league. They've been taking lessons at the school of rock. We moved here from New York where taking any class or activity required months of being on a wait list - It was ridiculous. Here, I find it much easier to explore, experiment and try new things.

What's Miami's best kept secret?
It's not necessarily the Beaches or anything like that. It's what the locals do, whether going to a Cuban ventanita and grabbing a Cuban coffee or going to your market stand and picking up a Rainbow Smoothie. Because of the different cultures here, there's such an ability to engage in the local community and mix with a broad swath of people, that's Miami's best kept secret.

The coffee. Any good Cuban Coffee. I pretty much live at the hospital, and some of the coffee stands in the hospital are phenomenal.

Hate Mondays Tavern, which is this barbecue place here in Kendall in an industrial area. You'd never find it if you don't know about it. It's just some of the best barbecue I've ever had. It's amazing.
