What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?
Steve and I have been going down, on Sunday afternoon around three o'clock, to Key Largo and watching the sunset at the Marriott, and eating dinner outside on one of the outdoor patios. We've been eating at Snook's a lot. You're far from everybody and it feels very safe. It's all outside, right on the water. That's a really great thing to do.

Dragonfly is one of our favorites. They started in Gainesville, and then they got so big that they moved to Orlando and then finally moved to Miami. Also, Houston's and Capital Grille are just classic good staple restaurants.

My kids are currently hooked on Pub Belly Sushi. They like to get the corn, edamame and the butter crab roll. My wife's birthday is coming up. We're going to Zuma for brunch. Definitely take Uber or Lyft because it's endless drinks.

In South Miami – No Name Chinese has fantastic tastes. My Ceviche – it’s part of a chain but really good and fast. Old Lisbon for Portuguese food. And, Marhaba for Arabic food. For special occasions: In my district, we go to a wonderful Italian place called Alaine’s Osterilla on 168th and Old Cutler.

I love Beehive juice bar. It’s a vegan restaurant and everyday they have something different. My favorite thing there is a Pianono – which is a Brazillan dish. Books, 35 years ago, Nino was just opening his restaurant. Both of our businesses have grown together. I see Nino at least once a month buying books. It’s not on the menu (and he’ll make it for anyone) - his chicken parm is the best in town!

Plant Food and Wine now has a new name – it’s a beautiful restaurant and all health foods. Horatio is the chef and they are great customers of ours. It’s so unique, I love everything. You must go there and see. They changed the management recently. The building owner took over and the staff and chef stayed. We went to Flemings last week for my wife’s birthday. It’s the only time I eat meat. I grew up eating steaks, now I get them once a birthday.

What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?
I try to cook most of the meals at home. If we go out to eat, I've got one vegan and one vegetarian. So we go to places that can accommodate that. A lot of them are in Design District or beach and usually restaurants that I've worked on. For a special occasion, there's a place called Planta in Miami Beach. Everything on the menu is plant-based.

Papa's Rawbar, Farmer's Table, Charm City Burgers, and Whales Rib.

Golden Rule, Black Point Ocean Grill, and Captain's Tavern. I love trying out the different specials. If they have hog fish, I try to order it. It's one of my favorite fish. Captain's Tavern does a Maine lobster special, which I rave home about.
