What keeps you busy during the week?
Well, it’s a calling. I am County Commissioner for Miami Dade County, District 8– which covers from Palmetto Bay to Homestead, and west over to Kendall and most of the Redland. It is a beautiful district. I call it the bike district. We have an initiative called South Dade More to Explore. We have agriculture, national parks, wonderful county parks, great cities, neighborhoods and schools in our district. The only thing we are missing is more jobs in the area, so people don’t have to commute so far for work.

What keeps you busy during the week?
Jason: I’m living the sausage life. Mel: The last three weeks have been pretty much a blur. We just opened our first retail store, Babe’s Meat & Counter, in Palmetto Bay. We have our butcher shop set up, we make sandwiches, we’re trying to keep up with production and we’re doing farmer's markets on the weekends.  We’re averaging 12-hour days, 7 days a week. We are always working together.

What keeps you busy during the week?
Selling cars to people. I get lit up when I do it. I like solving that problem or situation for people. I consider myself being very easy to talk to. I like to analyze the individual situation, the uniqueness of it. I'm like a car doctor per se, knowing what kind of vehicle is going to be the best fit for a family, a single person, someone who just got divorced, someone going through a midlife crisis. Sometimes people need a little bit of guidance on what would be the right way to go. I like to make it easier for the person to go in the right direction.

What keeps you busy during the week?
Ellie: I am busy with the kids during the week. I am active in their classrooms. I’ll go by to read books at Beth Am and help with the garden club at Palmetto. Now that the public schools have a closed campus, it's not as much involvement as it used to be last year. We do get to have Lunch Bunch when we can for Henry. Lunch Bunch is when you come to the classroom, your kid picks a few friends and rather than going to the cafeteria, you sit outside. You can read books to their small group of friends or play a game. They don't have to be in the loud, noisy cafeteria the whole time. Andy: I work a lot. And I'm involved with my oldest son's after school activities, which includes playing on a basketball team and practicing baseball. At work, I am an attorney. I do insurance defense representing corporations in toxic tort cases. Specifically, I represent corporations that have been sued in asbestos litigation.

What keeps you busy during the week?
During the week, I like to work out in the mornings and play basketball, sometimes go for a ride. Then, it's work time. During the day, I'm a network consultant or an IT guy. I mostly work out of my house, which is great. I have to go to clients weekly. And then, I take the kids around, to swimming, and do all the daddy stuff.
