For like a quick lunch or coffee, we love Joanna's marketplace in South Miami. Also in South Miami, Whisk is a good spot for dinner. It's like Southern comfort food. We also like Raw South.

We just went to Peacock Garden in Coconut Grove. That was really good. Laura loved it. We went to Bakan in Wynwood, I enjoyed that. We always like Steve's Pizza. I'm kind of a pizza snob being from New York. That's the closest we've come to finding good New York pizza.

Mandolin. The Mediterranean food is fresh and we love the vibe especially the outdoor ambiance. Bombay Darbar in Coconut Grove deserves a shout out too. Owner Danny worked on a cruise ship before he seamlessly turned his hole in the wall off Grand Street into one of Miami's top Indian restaurants.

I keep a list of restaurants on my phone that I try to constantly update - so when we've got a free night and ask where we want to go - we can take it out. The Downtown Dadeland area has been really impressive lately. Our favorite restaurant in Miami is probably Whisk - their spicy seared beef with coconut rice and spinach blends together in this perfect balance. Second place is called The Fish House. It's on Miller road, way out west. It's like a hole in the wall kind of place. They have a grilled octopus dish that is far better than any grilled octopus I've ever had at the fanciest restaurants around.

We travel up and down Krome Avenue a lot. So, we like to frequent the nurseries and the natural fruit stands around that area. I like the Last Carrot in Coconut Grove. I've been going there since I was a teenager. It's funny that question brought me to realize how long I've been here at home and not going anywhere.

Ghee in Downtown Dadeland. I like the lentil fritters. Their vegetarian dishes are great. Plant Food and Wine in Wynwood. I appreciate what they are doing.

I think a couple of the restaurants on the Beach are certainly accessible. Joe's and the restaurant across the street from it. I've been waiting for the reopening of the Lobster Bar on 4th street. That was our favorite.

For Thai:Bangkok City – everything is good. Especially the fried rice and the peanut sauce. The peanut salad is incredible. Origins on the Key is also great. They have a bunch of different cuisines - Thai, Malaysian, Japanese – but it’s not fusion. They have different dishes from each style. The Malaysian roti is really good. For Tacos: El Toro Taco – we get everything, it’s all well made, and you can’t go wrong. Las Carnitas – the mole is real. You would never pull over and think to eat there. It is a little window with seating on 8th street. You need to be taken there.
