Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
I'm a volunteer at the Barnacle and also a volunteer at Shake-a-Leg. That's a great program. I donate to Sea Shepherd. They broke off from Greenpeace about 35 years ago. They are fighting for the ocean, fighting for the seas, fighting for the whales. They're the ones that put their ships between the Japanese and Norwegian whalers. They're real progressive and aggressive fighters for the ocean.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
If I want to promote anything, it's electric vehicle ownership. The Village of Pinecrest asked me to do a presentation during Earth Day a few years ago and talk about debunking the myths of owning an electric vehicle. For many people, it's kind of a scary concept. There's something called “range anxiety”, which is the fear that you're going to run out of charge. When you realize that there are hundreds of thousands more electrical outlets than gas stations, the anxiety goes away. Once you get over these myths, you find that the energy independence and environmental benefits outweigh driving a gas car, by far. If anyone's interested, I can let them take a drive in our car and I can guarantee you after one drive, you'll understand how the electric vehicle ecosystem is far better.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
I’ve loved playing at the Feast with the Beast event at the Miami Zoo. It is a fantastic event – it happens at night, after the zoo is closed. It’s a multi ethnic stroll with all kinds of entertainment and food from the cultures you find here in Miami.

We participate in local beach cleanup and animal rescue programs.

We are both passionate about supporting agencies that work with kids and adults with diverse abilities such as Best Buddies, Special Olympics, and other local groups.

I would suggest people get involved in mental health nonprofits and see what's going on with their local school board, and their schools to make sure that we're providing the emotional and physical health support for our kids.

There are a few Dachshund meetups around Miami, but most are now canceled because of the corona virus. I have a Dachshund and follow an account called Dachshunds of Miami. They have weekly events for dog meetups and it's cool.

I’m very involved in Parkinsons awareness. I’m involved with the NPF’s South Florida Chapter (http://www.parkinson.org) and Moving Day® Miami (https://movingdaywalk.org/event/moving-day-miami)

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
I like to give my time to JAFCO - (Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options) JAFCO’s mission is to care for abused and neglected children and those with disabilities in the Jewish community and to work in partnership with families and the entire community. They are always collecting goods for camp and during the holidays you can bring presents and help wrap gifts. I also donate classes and events to many other charities.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
The Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a huge deal for me, both personally and professionally. They do a lot of good work for the community. There's a lot of income disparity in this country and the world and a lot of patients who have blindness or visual impairment don't have a ton of resources.
