Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
Anything that's pro veteran. It's something that I came out of and I put a lot of passion into. We don't know what we're doing when we're signing that paper. We go through basic training. We go through the schooling, it was a big shock when September 11th happened. I have a very deep respect for everybody, but a little bit extra for people that have been in the military. I remember one of the times I was in the line at the market, your dad shared he was in the Navy.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
I'm still contributing philanthropically or promoting in Washington DC. Now that I'm going to be calling Miami home, I would love to learn from this community.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
We are active members of our temple, Beth Shalom on Miami beach. Itamae had the privilege of participating with World Central Kitchen, preparing meals for first responders and others with food insecurities during the pandemic. That was something that just felt good. Also, my wife and I are very supportive of the social justice issues that are front and center today in the media. I think that America is in the crossroads. We need to live up to our ideals and standards and we really need to fight and make sure that all voices are heard. I am a proud 'girl dad.' I want my daughters to have a better America and a better place than what we have today. I'm tired of black people being killed for trivial reasons. We need to make it right for everybody. I'm not saying I have the answers, but I know that we need to start taking concrete, real steps. It's just time, I'm tired of it.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
I'm not involved with anything, per se right now, but as a bakery we love to support. Many of our customers are involved in so many things, and we support as much as we can. We've had trouble finding a constant place to donate leftovers. We'll always try to give it away some way.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
When lockdown occurred and we were not going out and doing much, we joined Fairchild Botanical Garden and learned about Connect to Protect, which is an amazing program. Michael mentioned them last week too. One of the perks of the program, is you get five plants that are native to the Pine Rocklands ecosystem.

We participate in local beach cleanup and animal rescue programs.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
I'm really appreciative of the work of the The Miami Foundation. They provide a way to be involved in a great many groups. Their annual giving day is quite a wonder. There's also the Woody Foundation. I participate in a chair yoga that they underwrite.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
Beth Am and Nicholas Children's. Beth Am is our community. Our kids go to school there and we attend the synagogue. I sit on the board of the school. We spend a lot of time there.

Are there any community events or groups that are important to you and your family?
There's so many, but at the moment, I'll go ahead and say the Black Lives Matter movement and everything that trickles down from there. I encourage anyone to see what's going on with the movement and to support businesses that support the movement. Take a look at where your money is going and try to put it into places that help your fellow human being. Also, I'd like to shout out for the (Alex) Honnald Foundation. He is the star of the documentary Free Solo, where he soloed El Capitan. His foundation supports bringing electricity to communities that don't have access.

The Friendship Circle. They're a small, wonderful organization that caters to the special needs of Miami.
