We are lucky to have farms in Belize that my dad, Marc, started when I was 12 years old. I started spearfishing with our local friends in Belize and I fell in love with it. My favorite thing about it is you learn something new every single time you go, whether you're fishing or diving or just spending a day out on the water. It's a great way to gain perspective. Miami gets tiny from where you are on the water. My favorite place to go diving is south out of Homestead and into the upper Keys.

We invested in Born Free baby bottles, which were the first BPA free baby bottles in America. BPA is a cause of cancer. In the beginning we were sued for making claims about BPA. Now, the FDA has changed the law and forbids BPA in baby bottles. So, it was a good business and we could do something good along the way.

I think probably the easiest one to describe is our last public piece in Boston, which was called Lost House. The premise of the project started with an abandoned piece of land in Boston. There was originally a house built by a woman in the mid 1800's, which was very rare. Sometime in the sixties, it went abandoned when the area went through an economic collapse. It's now owned by the city. We found it to be almost a crime against the area, that the government was waiting on a developer to find value in it before actually doing anything with it. We fell in love with the site and decided on a 'ghost version' of a house. It took on some of the aspects of the original house that was there, but then also tried to make it as unfamiliar as possible. Essentially, it looked like a bunch of columns that branched out as trees and then connected to other columns and that when put together made a canopy that suggested a roof line of a house. As you walked around, it would change form because from the front it had the image of a house, but as you moved around it looked occasionally just more like trees and these branching structures. Inside the middle, we had a simple set of benches so that people could come and now actually use the site.

In 2013 I had the opportunity to qualify for the CrossFit games - it's like the Superbowl of our sport - 'the world championships.' I wasn't really expecting to be able to do so just yet. But in the middle of the competition I found myself sitting in first place. I was going to earn that qualifying spot and I had one bad workout, with the dead lift, and it took me out of contention. After being able to taste the lead for a little while and then have that taken away made me work really, really hard to not experience that feeling again.

Would you teach us the basics of making yogurt? Get the best milk you can. Ideally whole milk, because you want all that fat to give it really nice texture and flavor. Heat it to close to a hundred degrees Fahrenheit. If you don't own a thermometer, you can just put your finger in. If you can't wait until 10, it's too hot. Then you add your culture. You can use any yogurt that you buy from the supermarket, or you can get cultures, which is what we do. We have our own blend of cultures. It's a secret. It's my blend. Not all cultures stay the same. Some have more flavors and give you thicker yogurt. If you using a quart of milk, you can add one or two tablespoons of yogurt after it's warm. Then, keep it warm for 12 hours. The next day, you'll see, it's a miracle. Milk transforms into yogurt. If you want it thicker, you can either put it in a cheese cloth bag and make sure you have a bowl underneath to catch all the liquid. That liquid is called whey. The longer you leave it, the thicker it gets.

My paintings are a buildup of materials, gestures and mishaps, shaped by the tension between the formality of drawing and structure and the freedom with which I apply the pigments.

The last time I came, I had a Python. I had just gotten a call that there was an escaped python. I went and caught it and it just so happened that the neighborhood was across from where the market stand is. I've been coming to market since I was a little kid. Now, the drive through location is awesome and it's great coming through on a Saturday or Sunday, getting a delicious smoothie and if it's guacamole season, definitely getting some Guac.

I don’t follow recipes, I make things by flavor. My mom is a really great cook – and she doesn’t use recipes – she just knows how much to add. She makes great peach and blueberry cobblers –- but she doesn’t have a recipe so she can't really teach you how to do it.

The Transformative Justice process is a bit more multilayered. It looks at structural violence, as well as individual violence. It tries to address justice without using any type of major professionals or governmental system. One important feature is creating groupings within your own community to address the violence.

I'm a real believer in asking people for money. I don't take it personally, it’s a process. You look for what's going to give people a joy to donate. You want them to share the passion. My dad was famous for raising money in our community. My mother said, 'I can't go anywhere with you two, because no one will want to talk to us. They're afraid one of you is going to ask them for money.' After Hurricane Andrew, President Bush, asked my dad to start 'We Will Rebuild.'
