What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?
One place that I went to for a family birthday recently was Uchi in Wynwood. It's Japanese food from Austin, Texas. It's delicious. For 'in the neighborhood,' I love on the weekends going to Lots of Lox and getting a solid turkey sandwich and some pancakes.

When Sarah and I arrived in Miami, and we didn't have anything in the house but an air mattress, we found the Asian Fusion Cafe in Palmetto Bay. They're very unpretentious with very good Asian food. They're not very expensive and super friendly.

We're always on the hunt for cheerful, simple, delicious food. We like Root and Bone, we've been there a few times and kids like it. The biscuits are crazy good. On a night when nobody feels like cooking, we'll go to Lime. It's consistently good and everyone is happy.

Dragonfly is one of our favorites. They started in Gainesville, and then they got so big that they moved to Orlando and then finally moved to Miami. Also, Houston's and Capital Grille are just classic good staple restaurants.

I love Ghee. I think Niven is doing Indian food like nobody else in this country. And the fact that he's growing much of it is just so special. We went to the opening of Salumeria 104's second location. They've had one in Midtown for a few years. It's very Italian, and it's reasonable. You can get three different kinds of prosciutto. It's just terrific.

There's nothing my boys don't eat. Give them salmon, octopus, crab, steak, short rib, 20 different vegetables, they are fantastic eaters. Every night it's all about protein and vegetables and healthy fruit for dessert. For restaurants, my favorite is Matsuri. We also love Ghee. During lunch, I always get the special.

We have been really in our bubble. Since Jacob started working with Grove Bay hospitality we have been to a lot of their restaurants and they are really great and family friendly. We are always up for trying some ice cream...so Whip and Dip or the Chill-N in South Miami. Recently we went to Stubborn Seed on Miami beach, which was so fantastic.

We just went to Peacock Garden in Coconut Grove. That was really good. Laura loved it. We went to Bakan in Wynwood, I enjoyed that. We always like Steve's Pizza. I'm kind of a pizza snob being from New York. That's the closest we've come to finding good New York pizza.
