With kids we cook a lot. Sage has been a place that we frequent - either their special of the day or their veggie burgers are good. It's kind of a no-frills place, but the food kind of speaks for itself. Also, Daily Bread is a go-to for us.

I'm not a big restaurant kind of guy. I always recommend Flanigan's to everybody. Up north there's a place called Izziban that's good for Korean barbecue.

We recently went to Peacock Garden in Coconut Grove. It is so nice to be outside this time of year in the evening. It was lovely. Some of my favorite spots are near work. I eat often at specialTEA Lounge. They have really good sandwiches, paninis, bowls, and vegan cookies - which are just delicious. Another place we recently found, is called the Good Chef in Sweetwater. It's probably some of the best Asian food I've had in Miami. It's very tiny, there's like six tables and it's attached to a market.

We've been cooking a lot at home since the pandemic started. But, our favorite restaurant in town would be Bombay Darbar, the Indian restaurant in Coconut Grove. Locally, we've been doing a lot of Ana Capri lately.

I'm more of a classic guy. I like the mainstay type restaurants, like Caffe Abbracci or Christys , or even Garcia's Seafood Market, or Captain's Tavern. These local gems have really good food and they're not touristy.

We enjoy a lot of them. Recently, we went to Balloo. I really love Caribbean food and they're doing it so cool. It's real small and they don't take reservations, but the food is top-notch and exciting. They had big a pickled slab of chayote squash with this delicious sweet and spicy chutney. I'm fascinated by and have always wanted to grow chayote. I like to see it on a menu sort of showcased like that. We always make our way out to 27 and Mandolin is always one of our favorites. Boia De is really nice, that's sort of near us. Then there are a couple Mexican places down in Homestead that are good. They're almost all in gas stations. 5 Hermanos on 272 and Krome. It's a food truck at a gas station with a couple of tents.

There’s no local outlet for bands to play down south. Right now, you have to go north to Wynwood or downtown. There’s a place called Las Rosas. It’s good for bands as it’s easy to load in and out and the sound is great. Also, Churchill's – which is a British pub in North East. They have good punk shows.

There's nothing my boys don't eat. Give them salmon, octopus, crab, steak, short rib, 20 different vegetables, they are fantastic eaters. Every night it's all about protein and vegetables and healthy fruit for dessert. For restaurants, my favorite is Matsuri. We also love Ghee. During lunch, I always get the special.

Tom: Two Chefs in Pinecrest is our numero uno. We brought so many wine makers from around the world to Two Chefs for winemaker lunches and dinners. They have all been blown away by the caliber of the cuisine in this little strip mall spot. Jan Jorgensen is Danish and classically trained and understands wine so much better than many of the younger chefs whose bold flavors really compete with wine. Try the fillet or pork chop – they are fabulous.
