What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend? We like Raw South like for a quick light lunch. We like Indian food, so we go to Ghee a lot. We like Glass and Vine, because the kids can play like alongside us at the park. And, we love Hillstone – it’s an oldie but a classic.
Kiki And Marc
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Kiki does not love to go to restaurants very often because she cooks and we have too many great cooks in the family. However, when we do go out, we love LAN Pan Asian for Age tofu and fiery spinach, The Seven Dials for creative salads and fish and chips & yummy desserts, pizza from Apizza Brooklyn, and Ghee in Downtown Dadeland ( followed by dessert at Nanndi!)
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Pastis- Escargot, Lamb Shank the specials Lan Pan Asian- Sushi, Fish dishes Ghee – I love everything! Try the Lamb Neck, it is a 7 day preparation process and amazing La Camaronera - Best whole fish in town
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?27 is a unique place in Miami. When people are in town, it’s where we go. It’s a fun, cozy – not fancy, they have great cocktails. I am pretty simple – I really like Lucali for pizza on Sunset Harbor. I would be happy to go there for my birthday and just have a pizza. I also think what Jeremy Ford is doing at Stubborn Seedis beautifully plated and tasty and good for a special occasion.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Ghee in Downtown Dadeland. I like the lentil fritters. Their vegetarian dishes are great. Plant Food and Wine in Wynwood. I appreciate what they are doing.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend? My favorite is definitely Ghee. We go there a lot. Their green millet is awesome and the sticky date cake. And, of course, Jackson Hall. My old standby is always a green bowl at Della Bowls.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?27 is one of my favorites in Miami. Their roasted cauliflower with pesto is knock your socks off delicious. The sous chef is a young Cuban American like me and he's always embracing South Florida flavors and ingredients that we have here. They actually have their own garden there. The house smoked lamb ribs with pomegranate molasses are delicious. Also, Madruga Bakery. They feel like a farm to table a bakery. They have this amazing guava and cream cheese croissant. But - Babes Meat and Counter is my number one go to spot here in South Florida. My favorite thing on their menu right now is the Italian roast pork sandwich which features some callaloo greens from Margie (at Bee Heaven). It’s like a French dip sandwich, but with fantastic, roasted pork, shaved super thin. It’s served with a provolone cheese and on Sullivan Street bread.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend? The beauty of this question is how difficult it is to answer in Miami now. I’m a huge fan of the short rib green curry at Cake Thai, anything on the menu at Alter or Ghee or Edge. There are so many others I wish I could get to more. I’m extremely impressed by what Melissa Sosa is doing at the Zak the Baker Deli. And I doubt a month goes by that I haven’t visited Clive’s Café in Little Haiti.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?I love Ghee. I think Niven is doing Indian food like nobody else in this country. And the fact that he's growing much of it is just so special. We went to the opening of Salumeria 104's second location. They've had one in Midtown for a few years. It's very Italian, and it's reasonable. You can get three different kinds of prosciutto. It's just terrific.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?I'm always looking through your newsletters for places. I've found a bunch of restaurants, that I didn't know about, that were really interesting, and I've tried everybody's suggestions!
