What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Food related - We don't go as often as we wish, but we love Le Bouchon in the Grove. And, A Pizza Brooklyn, the original location, not the one on Bird. And, we go to the farmer's market on Saturdays in Coral Reef park. Non food related: We like Casa Viera which is a small business owned by a husband and wife and they create one of a kind pieces out of wood.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Well, I'm super lucky because both my husband and my daughter are amazing chefs. We eat at home a lot and I get to eat the most amazing meals. When we do go out, I'd say the places we like to eat would be Mandolin, a Mediterranean restaurant with great outdoor seating. It yummy and fun. We like to eat at Lokal in the Grove. They have good burgers and I like their veggie burger and they have a delicious local IPA. Shibui is a great little Japanese restaurant. It's off of Sunset and 102nd. It looks like a little house. You can either sit at a table downstairs or sit on the floor upstairs.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend? We just went to Peacock Garden in Coconut Grove. That was really good. Laura loved it. We went to Bakan in Wynwood, I enjoyed that. We always like Steve's Pizza. I'm kind of a pizza snob being from New York. That's the closest we've come to finding good New York pizza.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Red Rooster in Overtown. The original is in Harlem, New York. That's where I used to live and would frequent Red Rooster all the time. I'm excited that they brought it back here to Miami, in the same community where my family's restaurant is. It's like your soul food, but with a French / New Orleans infusion. They have this amazing shrimp and grits, or an oxtail, which is to die for. They even have something for vegans, which is a plant based fried chicken appetizers which is amazing. I didn't think I'd like it, but I do. And they have a DJ and it feels like New York.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend? We recently went to Peacock Garden in Coconut Grove. It is so nice to be outside this time of year in the evening. It was lovely. Some of my favorite spots are near work. I eat often at specialTEA Lounge. They have really good sandwiches, paninis, bowls, and vegan cookies - which are just delicious. Another place we recently found, is called the Good Chef in Sweetwater. It's probably some of the best Asian food I've had in Miami. It's very tiny, there's like six tables and it's attached to a market.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Right now, my favorite restaurant and the only restaurant we've been going to right now, is La Natural. They have a sourdough made with a really old starter and they make amazing pizza. When I first started going, they had this grilled pineapple, and it was so good. It was seasonal, but now they have these mushrooms with green sauce. My husband and I are both very particular about food and there's certain places where it might taste good, but you don't feel good afterwards, so you don't end up going back. But I feel great after I eat at La Natural. There's another little place that I really love that my husband has been going to since he was a teenager, called Tarragon Middle East Market. It's owned by two Lebanese brothers who are twins and they're just so kind and so nice. The dates they sell are like no other date I have ever tasted in my life. They just melt in your mouth. All their food is really good.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend? We like places that have healthy options on the menu. We like Bolay, Grown, and Diced - they have several locations. Then, we like to go to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods for vegan or vegetarian options that we can make at home.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?I used to be a restaurant critic at age 19. I'm serious. I had a food blog when nobody was doing it, but that was 20 years ago. I really don't do a lot of restaurants here. If we want to go out in Weston, we go to two places. Pizza Lovers - he's Italian and makes very thin crust pizza. And there's a sushi place called KEUH. In Miami, I love Mandolin, the Greek restaurant. And, Motek, which serves Israeli food. In Little Havana there's a place called El Sanguich, for Cuban sandwiches. I love it.
What local restaurants or businesses do you recommend?Plant is great, and Sacred Space. I also love Planta Queen. Mamey is great. My favorite restaurant ever is El Rey de Las Frita on 8th street. It's like original Miami Cuban food. We love Super Subs Etc. On Bird Road.
